By one of the little guys
Posted by Agencies at 05:21 AM GMT on Mar 02, 2009 | TORRENT FREAK reports that big layoffs are expcted at the copyright copster the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
But that’s not all. The same source said that a Shanda Moursey has sued the RIAA and three big records companies as well as a firm called Mediasentry, which gathers IP addresses.
The suit challenges the hegemony of the multinational record companies and alleges they’ve been abusing the federal court system, “waging a public relations and public threat campaign targeting digital file sharing activities”.
The filing also describes the RIAA’s process as a sham litigation programme, and use intimidation to reach the result it desires. You can read the detailed story, here.
