Microsoft sued over .Net framework

Template patent infringement alleged

Posted by The News staff at 10:44 AM GMT on Feb 26, 2009

SOFTWARE GIANT Microsoft was sued by a company called Freyburger LLC which alleges that a patent it owns was breached.

The patent in question is No.6,405,368 B1, called Method for Separate Compilation of Templates. The plaintiff alleges that it describes an improved method for compiling computer programs with templates faster and with greater efficiency.

Freyburger LLC claims in its deputation, made in a Wisconsin district court on the 25th of February, that Microsoft makes operating and products containing the .Net Framework, version 2.0 and above, that infringe its patent.

It therefore wants damages and an injunction from Microsoft.
